Step One: Check Eligibility
To apply for a grant, you must first ensure you meet the eligibility requirements. For full details start on the Funding page, where you will find detailed guidance notes to download. In summary, to be eligible:
- You must be seeking funding for a local community or environmental project
- The costs you are seeking to cover must be ‘new’ and ‘additional’ capital costs, or some types of revenue activity
- The project must be fully accessible to the general public
- Your organisation must be not-for-profit with a formal constitution and bank account (this includes voluntary groups, charities, social economy organisations and public sector agencies)
- The project must be based within the Shotts, Allanton, Bonkle and Hartwood areas of North Lanarkshire, within the boundary shown on the map below
- A successful grant applicant shall, where required by EKF (acting reasonably and having regard to the value of the Grant), maintain in force throughout the term of the Grant such insurance cover as is sufficient to ensure that the Grant Awardee is able to repay any part of the Grant that may become due and payable in the event of a breach of the Grant Conditions. EKF reserves the right, at any time, to require the Grant Awardee to provide satisfactory evidence of such insurance, including copies of insurance policies and proof of payment of premiums. The Grant Awardee shall comply promptly with any such request.
